Born in Rangoon, Burma, and raised in Vienna and Manila, jewelry designer Wynn Wynn Ong has had a global outlook since birth. She began making her own jewelry as a teenager when she couldn’t find what she was looking for elsewhere. After a stylist friend noticed her creations in 2001, Nagá Jewelry was born. Her one-of-a-kind, completely handmade creations are inspired by the materials that comprise them. “I have no interest in creating two pieces that are exactly alike,” says Ong. “The gems I find drive the designs. Stones and their settings should form stories that tease the mind and taunt the senses. Wearers must feel the piece. They must be transformed.” And that they do.
